Orgasmic Music Gallery rolls out multi-band live stream concert

Concert supported by Music In Africa

The past year has been a rough ride for South African musicians and performers who lost their main source of income when local lockdown measures effectively shut down the local event industry. Fortunately, a collaboration between Music In Africa Live and Orgasmic Music Gallery now seeks to provide some relief.

Orgasmic Music Gallery (OMG) is excited to announce that Music In Africa has chosen to support their growing platform with a much-needed grant, backed by funding provided by the German Federal Foreign Office, Siemens Stiftung and Goethe-Institute.

The Music In Africa Live project

The fantastic Music In Africa Live project is one of a number of new initiatives that the Music In Africa Foundation has introduced this year to support music professionals in Africa. OMG is one of 23 grant recipients throughout the continent that were chosen to support the foundation’s drive to provide critical-skills training for performers to navigate the new challenges and transformations within the industry, and simultaneously earn an income from live digital performances.

The showcase grants support the production of high-quality digital live concerts by African musicians, with an emphasis on professional productions that offer real exposure. This is a perfect fit for OMG, a Stellenbosch-based broadcaster that teamed up with a rollcall of South Africa’s leading audio-visual engineers to provide audiences with innovative, interactive and immersive experiences during lockdown, and continues to do so now.

OMG will be hosting a carefully selected line-up of world-class musicians on the 26th of November 2020. This includes Albert Frost Trio & Tubatsi Mpho Moloi, Urban Village, The Black Cat Bones and Congo Cowboys

Event Details

The concert will take place at the Daisy Jones Bar at OMG on the outskirts of Stellenbosch from 19:00 on the 26th of November. A Facebook LIVE stream will be shared, and the event will be open to a small audience (tickets available at the door).

Date: 26 November 2020

Venue: The Daisy Jones Bar at OMG (Stellenbosch)

Time: 19:00
