Welcome To The Weekend 8/9-11

Gosh!!! Another week has passed and we’re ready to have some more FUN!!! It’s the weekend! I read where someone said ‘weekends’ must be made in China because they don’t last. I found the humor in this in that when I was a youngster ‘Made In China’ was synonymous with poorly crafted goods. I’m not sure that’s true today.

Anyway, don’t get your panties in a wad over that….its nothing much about nothing and a far cry from racist.

This is my weekly Friday Welcome To The Weekend Blog…..yeah, it’s still new and I’m working out the kinks. Should you have any ideas short of me not writing it, please drop me a line.

At The Movie:

“Long Shot” Featuring Seth Rogen and Charlize Theron.

So, this movie took me by surprise. As a matter of fact, I even teared up big time at one point! It just touched me. I’m thinking for the most part, Seth plays himself. At least from a political/environmental aspect. Which leads to some good places. You may or may not like Seth for his personal beliefs but that shouldn’t stop you from thoroughly enjoying this cute romantic comedy.

Charlize plays the part of the U.S. Secretary of State to a daft president (formerly a TV actor with other more exciting and profound ambitions than being ‘president’)…which is quite humorous. Thru some strategic planning on both of their parts she will run for president once he leaves office. Nice. Then some things go off path with serious intentions and boundry pushing comedy that holds the comedy together.

I didn’t take it in any context of todays political scenery, nor did I earnestly consider the actors view points. I just looked at it as a very, very, funny movie.

Caution!!! You will laugh out loud!!!

I Love Quotes:

“That’s what you want to do? Then nothing beats a trial but a failure. Give it everything you’ve got. I’ve told you many times, ‘Cant do is like Dont Care.’ Neither of them have a home.”
― Maya Angelou

“We Greeks believe that a man who takes no part in public affairs is not merely lazy, but good for nothing”
― Thucydides

“Wise men put their trust in ideas and not in circumstances.”
― Ralph Waldo Emerson

“The truth was this: Love is a decision.”
― Karen Kingsbury

I threw an extra one in there this week just because I wanted to and I can.

Weekend

Something Interesting…..

Mysterious, ancient radio signals keep pelting Earth!!!

How about that!!!

It seems that shrieks of radio waves from deep space keep blasting into radio telescopes on Earth, splattering those instruments’ detectors with confusing data. The signals have complex, mysterious structures, with waves that play out in just milliseconds.  Scientist are unable to pinpoint the source, it’s just coming from “somewhere out there”!

The signals, once arriving, never repeat themselves. Each one appears to be a singular event in space that will never happen again.

My Experience….

I’m spending some time looking at my future.

Some may say that’s a waste of time. I don’t agree. You see my today can provide me with a limited image of what it will look like. There’s some things, some very obvious things that I overlooked from the days of being a young adult. Those things without my making an adjustment today are crushing.

I don’t think that we tend to plan very well. Lots of ‘critical thinking’ is being ignored or avoided because of our lack of education and understanding.

I would do somethings quite different as of this moment.

But, then perhaps it’s that free wheeling life style that has prepared me for this moment.

Sit, and think of your old self today. You got all the bases covered??

Peace, love and beaches,

John
