Welcome To A New Week!

Welcome to a new week…. perhaps I should have written, Monday is included. But, I’ll leave that up to you and encourage you to embrace everything GOOD about Monday!

If last week didn’t turn out as good as you wanted it to or you had a really good week there is no reason for you not to make this week even BETTER than the last!! So, do it!

For Starters:

1 little thing can make a big difference.

A lot of what we don’t like (and don’t realize it) is that we repeat what we’ve always done. There’s good reason for that, it’s something we’ve grown comfortable with (I always try not to end a sentence with a preposition, but I want to do 1 little thing to make this different). (Insert Smiley Face Here)

Too often we look for something drastic to change our lives and while that thing may be appealing, it’s not comfortable so we stay right where we were doing the same thing we’ve always done before because it is familiar and comfortable.

That is why it is important to do 1 little thing.

Quotes:

“Life holds just as many solutions as there are problems” – John Gaudet (that’s me)

“I’ve missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I’ve lost almost 300 games. 26 times I’ve been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I’ve failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.” –Michael Jordan

“The Way to get started is to quit talking and begin doing!”– Walt Disney

Reading quotes can be quite satisfying. Even putting them on a post it note around your computer screen, or on the fridge door where you can see it and enjoy it. But, the greatest way to enjoy what it means is to put it in action in your life. Just because the last thing you did wasn’t the success you expected isn’t a good enough reason to quit. No, it’s the perfect reason to continue. Take what you did wrong, learn from it and try again. All successes are built on it’s history of failures.

Fun:

Whatever you’re doing, try to bring a little fun to it.

Do you know any good jokes (or even bad ones for that matter)? Go read a joke or several jokes til you find the one that gives you a bit of a boost. A good chuckle is a good way to lead us down a more enjoyable path.

But your boss doesn’t like fun. You really shouldn’t care about this, this is about you. Put some serious effort into putting fun in your life and you’ll become more productive, creative and enjoyable to be around. This is a good thing. This doesn’t mean to tell your boss or anyone else the joke, the joke is to set you in motion. Find a new one daily…..

Vocabulary:

Huh???

Our vocabulary lead us to where we are and will lead us to where we go.

Words are powerful. Reflective of our attitudes. Represent who we are. Attract people of like mind. Tend to be what we believe and become.

Good and Bad. Try this for the week (and keep doing it afterwards of course), remove the word ‘bad’ from your vocabulary. Replace it with ‘not as good’ as i wanted.

Think of it this way….when the desired result isn’t achieved, you are presented with the second opportunity. Find what’s good. Teach yourself to find what’s good. This pays BIG dividends!

Character:

A long time ago I began to look for good in people. It’s easy to find fault and dislike, but looking for good is sometimes a challenge. I once said what I saw good in a certain politician and was pummeled with aggressive comments and hateful words. It didn’t change what I said about the politician. The nay sayers missed the point…that’s their problem. Rather than focusing on the bad, what’s the habit perhaps that they’ve acquired to nurture what’s bad and make it some prominent? You’re probably recognizing repetition and tenacity in action.

That’s a good thing!

Go forth and have the Best week of your life, this far.

Peace, love, and beaches,

John
