Lifestyle Review: Living Room Tour Update with My-Picture.co.uk

It's so strange to think that it's been almost a year since we made the move from London to Stamford, Lincolnshire. Not long after moving in, I shared a 'before' post of our living room on here but, one year on, I really think we've made the house our own (for the most part) and thought I share an update.

Being at home on lockdown has really made me appreciate our home more. I'm sure it's the same for many of you but it's been the perfect excuse to do some extra work around the house and order some interior pieces I've been wanting for a while. Working from the sofa most days, it's been really nice to be able to look around the room and feel comforted and satisfied. So here's a little sneak peek at some beloved corners of my home...

Tan Brown Sofa by French Connection at DFS, Wicker side table by La Redoute, Cushions from HomeBase and Matalan
If you saw my last living room tour, you may notice that the bulk of the living room is very similar but with some minor improvements. After months of putting it off, we finally caved and got new sofas (in particular the Zinc Leather range from DFS) in the tan brown. I so nearly opted for velvet but quickly realised that with a fluffy grey cat also sharing the house, this probably would less than ideal. We're really pleased with how the brown leather adds some warmth to the room but also goes with the Scandinavian, rustic feel we like.

I'll admit that since lockdown I have become obsessed with buying plants. Looking back at the photos of the room when we first moved in, I don't know how we had it so bare previously and I find it incredibly relaxing to be surrounded by so much green.

Another home decor obsession of mine has been wicker, seagrass baskets and rattan. In the past I was only interested in having all-white everything with black accessories and couldn't stand wooden finishes because I thought all-white would look sleeker and cleaner - but I actually really love the vintage bohemian vibes that come with blending the two styles. It's become quite the trend lately in mainstream stores but I had been wanting a a peacock chair for many years but it always felt like too much of an extravagant purchase. However, I decided to treat myself to one for my birthday, finding the one above on eBay at the bargain price of just £60. It fits perfectly under the stairs and it's become a bit of a boho music haven with the vinyl record unit. We also like to joke that this is Ripley's rightful throne.

Custom framed photo prints from My-Picture.co.uk
I'm sure I've said it before but I'm a firm believer that having frames and accessories on the walls can really help to transform your home - especially when you're renting. And so, you can imagine why I was so incredibly over the moon when My-Picture.co.uk* asked if I wanted to receive some customise framed prints.

I was unsure what to expect with ordering framed prints online but I was so incredibly impressed by the quality when they arrived. As you can see from the above, I decided to have all of my prints in black and white as I thought this would really help them to blend in to any room we decided to put them in. The process itself was super easy too - I simply uploaded the images from my computer via their framed photo prints section of the site. One thing I thought was really helpful (particularly if you're concerned about losing the quality of the photo when its resized) the website advises you on the recommended size frame based on the quality and size of the photo. Around a week later, they arrived ready to hang and I couldn't be happier with them.

For now I've separated my framed photos and spread them around the house but I think they look fantastic on a photo ledge (as shown above) or even as a frame feature wall and are a great way of having your memories displayed around the home. I honestly can't think of a single issue I had when ordering and the frames are really nice and light-weight so ideal for hanging and displaying pretty much anywhere.

If you'd like to order your own custom photo in frame or maybe canvas or even custom photo face mask, you can get 10% off your order using discount code POPCORNANDGLITTER at the checkout. I honestly can't wait to get out and have more adventures so we can add them to our framed photo collection.

Well that's it for the my latest home decor update. All-in-all, I think we're pretty pleased with how our rented home is shaping up and the new additions we've added over the last year. I know I've said it before but I absolutely love seeing other people's decor on Instagram so hope you enjoy seeing mine. If you'd like to see more of my home style, I've recently created my own home decor Instagram account, @AtHomeInStamford - so please do give it a follow and share!

A huge thank you to My-Picture.co.uk for my beautiful framed photos - I keep finding myself admiring them and wanting to order more! But tell me, where do you find your decor inspiration? Has lockdown had you making any alternations to your home? As always I love hearing from you so please do leave me lots of lovely comments below.

Until next time, hope everyone is keeping safe,
