Lifestyle Review: Galentine's Day Gift Guide with Oliver Bonas

"What is February 13th you ask? Well it’s Galentine’s Day, duh!" (Leslie Knope)

Galentine's Day is almost upon us once more. A day to share the Love with your friends and just general "ladies celebrating ladies". And, being a total sucker for a made-up holiday, I thought I'd put together a little last minute gift guide featuring a few of my most favourite picks for treating your besties this February 13th.

A few weeks ago, I was lucky enough to be invited along to check out Oliver Bonas' Spring/Summer 2019 'Love Yourself' Press Day. Besides having a tattoo artist on hand and a mountain of amazing food, it was a chance to showcase their beautiful collections; from fashion to homeware. With pink hews, hearts and by all things romantic, it was ideal for Valentine's/Galentine's. In particular, the Love Potion products caught my eye immediately. Here's a selection of my favourite pieces...

Love Potion Mug, £12* - Love Potion Scented Candle, £20* - First Love Travel Bags (Set of Two), £19.50*

The Love Potion range is inspired by Greek mythology and Aphrodite (the Goddess of Love). The design includes a winged cupid on one side, and a recipe for falling in love on the other. I particularly loved the candle which is fragranced with notes of bergamot, mandarin, cherry blossom, jasmine, rose, violet and musk. These travel bags (one labelled 'undies' and the other 'laundry') will also come in super handy next week when the boyfriend and I jet off to Berlin for a few days.

Boja Set of Four Gold Foil Tumbler Glasses, £28* - Orange Milk Chocolate Bar, £4.50* - Pink 'Love' Sequinned Pouch, £14* - Oliver Bonas Body Mist (Similar), £7*

I don't know if I'm just getting old now but it seems that homeware is a growing obsession of mine I'm constantly on the look out for decor ideas and pieces for the flat. My boyfriend is a bit of a whisky connoisseur and I thought that these set of rose gold tumblers were perfect. I think he's quite pleased with his early Valentine's Day add-on.

Of course, I don't think that you have to spend a great deal of money to show someone you care on Valentine's/Galentine's Day - it's all about making a simple gesture or having a nice night in together. In the past for Galentine's Day, I've made little boxes with maybe a bathbomb, some Love Heart sweets or chocolate and some photos with a card and that always seems to go down well. As for Valentine's Day this year, it's my first one with my boyfriend so we shall have to see...

Well, that's it for my Galentine's Oliver Bonas gift guide. A huge thank you to them for these stunning goodies - they make for the perfect presents or even for a treat for yourself. You can check out more of their amazing pieces via their website here.

But tell me, how will you be celebrating Galentine's or Valentine's Day this year? Do you have a favourite from my picks above? As always, I love reading your comments so please do leave me lots of lovely ones below.

Until next time - ovaries before brovaries,
