Outfit of the Day: Night of the Living Dead

I honestly never know how to write for these fashion posts but here I am again with a long overdue outfit of the day. Some of you may have noticed that I've not been as up to date with my posts lately so I thought I'd take this post to explain a little bit as to why I've been so absent lately.

If I'm honest I just haven't had the brain power to keep up with my usual blog activity over recent months. Combined with work, blog events and Film screenings, I just haven't had a minute to myself. Obviously, I don't mean to sound ungrateful by any means. I'm very aware that I get presented with some amazing opportunities and I know that one day those opportunities will eventually run dry so I have to make the most of them while I still can. But I can't help but just feel exhausted most weeks. Take this week, for example. This week was meant to be "a quiet week" - only for it to turn in to two film screenings and a TV show taping.

That in mind, I've had to put the blog on the back burner a little. It bothers me so much that I'm behind on film reviews I was asked to create for some truly amazing films I genuinely want to be talking about. I feel really behind but something's got to give. But then, why am I being hard on myself? I'm not ashamed to admit that I've been spread too thinly and just need a day off now and then.

Over recent months, 'blogging' feels far more like a chore than anything else. I've had fellow bloggers say that they feel pressured to do posts they don't want to do, and so fourth, but I feel very strongly that if it's not fun - don't do it. No one is making you blog. And unless it's your full-time job, you don't owe anyone anything. That said, I do understand the deadlines we put on ourself and I am keen to get back on it. I want to get the creative juices flowing again but I'm doing it on my own terms.

Boring and ungrateful-sounding rants aside, I guess I should talk about this outfit. Lately I've been more 'creative' with my outfits. As some of you may have noticed in the past, my go-to was always black everything. And naturally my wardrobe does consist of a lot of goth. However, I've been finding myself loving some bright and colourful pieces. I'm still keeping it simple, however. Nothing beats a dress, or a-line skirt combined with a statement Faux Fur Jacket. Throw in some gold jewellery and a tee featuring an incredible classic horror film for good measure.

Huge thanks to Blue Banana for the amazing Night of the Living Dead tshirt. Besides being one of my all time favourite films (RIP George A Romero), it's the perfect thrown on t-shirt for any movie or fashion lover. I really love their selection of movie tees and merchandise and was so excited to be given the chance to work with them. You can check out more of their awesome film and TV inspired pieces here

Well that's it for another rant and outfit post. As always, I'd love to hear your thoughts so please do leave me lots of lovely comments down below.

Until next time,
