0308 International Women’s Day

March 8th is “International Women’s Day”.
In Japan, this day is not so well known, besides a part of men criticize about this day, their reason is “It’s not fair for men. Please set Men’s Day also”.
Well, it sounds funny for us. Because “International Men’s Day” is already available, it’s November 19th. Yes, there is. Then, why those men don’t know this day? The reason is, such a type of men has no interest any activities about men’s rights, they just want to punish women, they just want to take women’s rights away from women.

From my view, Japan is also “not fair country for both genders”. Although many workers are there in many working places compared with 50 years back, women’s rights itself is very low, not all but many men are not supportable, a part of men force the serious sexual harassment and abuse against women. It’s invisible from men’s view, but absolutely there it is. “The poor ratio of single mother is 50% in Japan, this is the top ratio among OECD member countries”, this proves what I’m telling about women’s rights, too.

The surface of Japan has been looks nice until recently, but it’s just “looks like”.
Please look this AD design, for instance. Can you guess what this is?
WomenActADMen
This is an AD for women’s empowerment, the AD client is Kanagawa prefecture, Japan.
The copy is “Women become more and more protagonists(女性が、どんどん主役になる)”. This AD includes a name of team:”Team Supporting Women in Kanagawa(かながわ女性の活躍応援団)”, but what is it? Look at this AD, only men is there, not women. The AD is for women, but only men is there in it. It’s completely funny. However, both of the client and AD-agency can not understand what is funny in this AD. They have NO sense.

As long as such a nonsense AD is available very much(actually, not less), the situation of gender equality in Japan would not become better…… Japanese do everything in order to NOT CHANGE, therefore this thing is absolutely hopeless also……..
Sigh……
