As promised, here's part 2 of our labor day weekend trip (Part 1) my favorite part off the trip, Ilocos Sur!

The drive from La Union to Ilocos Sur was longer than I expected.  I actually thought that it was just like Marikina-Makati ride. Hihi!  An hour or less before we reached our first stop in Ilocos Sur, we came across this beautiful site! I'm not sure what they call the bridge though... but the scenery was just perfect.  So perfect that there were about 4 or 5 other families taking pictures of the place or themselves in the place.


After, our first stop was the Church of Apo Caridad (Lady of Charity).


So much people we're trying to tour the church and unfortunately, we didn't have the time :(  We just went inside the church (mass was going on when we arrived) to say our personal prayers (we wanted to hear mass, however it was in their local dialect), took a few photos and went on with our trip.

Our next stop (is what made me like and love this trip the most), Vigan!

Vigan being a UNESCO World Heritage Site, has always made me want visit and see the old and Spanish inspired architecture of the place.  The streets of Vigan are simply amazing! Just by walking along the streets of Calle Crisologo makes you imagine how much history this place has.

After roaming the streets of Vigan, it was time for us to check in and rest.  We checked in at Hotel Felicidad.  Group rooms range from Php4,500 - 6,500, this is complete with all the works and a breakfast buffet.

The facade of the hotel is of course a Spanish inspired design, the rooms however are already infused with modern architecture and interior designing. Nevertheless,  the hotel's aesthetics is as flawless as it's service (except for a little misunderstanding that happened when we checked out the next day -_-)

The next day's first stop: Gov. Chavit Singson's Baluarte Zoo! The place smelled like poop (of course), but it was pretty amazing.  I don't know if I was amazed because of the fact that I haven't been to a zoo since I was 8 years old, or because there was a gold colored building in the middle of it or there was a safari museum that showcases all of Mr. Singson's safari related adventure and a really disturbing centaur photo of him -_-  Haha!Anyway, it was a really nice place and I really hope to go back there when Avery's a little bigger and could appreciate it more.

By the way, Baluarte entrance is FREE. Yup, it's FREE! There are also a lot of souvenir shops inside so it's really a sulit trip to go there. Also, I believe their in the process of developing the place more (as in rides and other areas were being built inside) that is why I am really looking forward to going back.

Baluarte was the last stop of our Ilocos Sur adventure.  After this, it was another 1.5-2hour drive to Ilocos Norte to visit the Malancanang of the North & Sand Sunes in Paoay WHICH will be for another blog post :)
