Five books I recommend reading

Tags: book

Actually I'm not that big of a reader, because I simply don't have much time to read books I like: I need to read books for school and I don't have much more time to read books for my own amusement. But when I do read a Book for my own entertainment and find a good book, I feel like sharing it with the rest of the world. Today I've got five books for you that I really enjoyed reading and do recommend reading it!

The books I've chosen aren't all the same genre. Some contain a lesson while others are pure entertainment.
Let's start with the books that do have some kind of a lesson in them.

Five Days

How long does it take to fall in love?

For twenty years, Laura has been a good wife and a good mother. She's supported her husband through redundancy, she's worried about her son, she's encouraged her daughter.

She's stopped thinking about all the places she'd like to go and all the books she'd like to talk about.

She's not unhappy, exactly. She's not that self-indulgent. As anyone would tell you, Laura is wonderfully constant, caring, selfless. She's certainly an expert at putting on a brave face.

But a chance meeting in a hotel lobby - and the five days that follow - remind Laura of the young woman she used to be - and the woman she could have become.

Is it ever too late to have the life you wanted? Or do we owe it to ourselves to pursue the promise of happiness?

This book really made me think about life. Is it ever too late to have the life you wanted? It also made me realize how time flies and that you should love yourself and not put everyone's wishes before your own.

For my Dutch readers: The book hasn't been translated to Dutch. You can buy the book at for €10,49

Stargirl. From the day she arrives at quiet Mica High in a burst of color and sound, the hallways hum with the murmur of “Stargirl, Stargirl.” She captures Leo Borlock’s heart with just one smile. She sparks a school-spirit revolution with just one cheer. The students of Mica High are enchanted. At first.

Then they turn on her. Stargirl is suddenly shunned for everything that makes her different, and Leo, panicked and desperate with love, urges her to become the very thing that can destroy her: normal. In this celebration of nonconformity, Newbery Medalist Jerry Spinelli weaves a tense, emotional tale about the perils of popularity and the thrill and inspiration of first love.

This is the latest book I've read for my own amusement. Someone recommended me to read the book, so I did. I'm still not completely sure what I think about this book. It just made me realize how people always say "Be Yourself" or "Be Different" but actually they expect you to be just like them. And if you're too different from them, you get punished. Isn't that a bit contradictory?

For my Dutch readers: The book is translated to Dutch. You can buy the dutch version for €8 + €1,99 service costs at  or English version for €11,99.

Happy Life

Mascha is my favorite dutch beauty blogger and one of my biggest role models. I absolutely recommend reading this book to all my dutch readers. The book is full of great advices and funny stories. It taught me how to be thankful for what I have and how to enjoy every second of my life.

The book is only available in Dutch and can be bought for €14,95 at

Now let's go to the books that I enjoyed reading, even thought they do not contain any lesson. The books are about supernatural things and I've read them years ago.

Infinite Days

"Throughout all my histories, I found no one I loved more than one."

Those were some of Rhode's last words to me. The last time he would pronounce his love. The last time I would see his face.

It was the first time in 592 years I could take a breath. Lay in the sun. Taste.

Rhode sacrificed himself so I, Lenah Beaudonte, could be human again. So I could stop the blood lust.

I never expected to fall in love with someone else that wasn't Rhode.

But Justin was...daring. Exciting. More beautiful than I could dream.

I never expected to be sixteen again...then again, I never expected my past to come back and haunt me...

I don't know why, but this book really made me fall in love with it. I've read this book in dutch and I read sequels in english. I've read the first book two or three times because I really enjoyed it. It's definitely my favorite vampire book. I love it even more than Twilight or The Vampire Diaries books.

For my dutch readers: the book is available in dutch. It's called Eeuwig Verbond and can be bought for €6,90 at English version can be bought for €9,99.

Instant. Intense. Weirdly familiar . . .

The moment Luce looks at Daniel she knows she has never felt like this before. Except she can't shake the feeling that she has . . . and with him - a boy she doesn't remember ever setting eyes on.

Will her attempt to find out why enlighten her - or destroy her?

Dangerously exciting and darkly romantic. Fallen is a thrilling story about forbidden love.

I really didn't want to write about very popular books everyone knew, because what's the point in that? Fallen is a quite popular book too, but I'm sure there are still people that don't know it yet. I loved reading the book and its sequels and I'm not done with them yet. I do want to finish it, though, because I really like the book.

For my dutch readers: the book is also available in dutch for €18,99 at  and the english version costs €10,49.

Of course there are more books I've enjoyed reading, like The Fault In Our Stars, The Vampire Diaries and Twilight Saga, but I really wanted to share with you books that aren't that popular, but still are worth reading. I hope there's at least one book that you found interesting and I hope you're going to read it.

Have you read any of these books? Do you like them? What's your favorite book?
