Where did everything go?!

If you're one of the cool kids who read my blog often, you might notice it's looking a bit different - and a bit bare in terms of content.
Don't panic, I wasn't hacked by Internet Ninjas or anything like that (I doubt I'm quite a big enough deal to be on the ninja hacker radar in all honesty), and (for once), I didn't over estimate my HTML abilities and break everything, it's supposed to be like this.
Why? Well, long story short: blog was a bit neglected & sorry for itself, so fresh start, spruce up, press reset, feels like the right thing to do.
Long story long? Keep reading if you're so inclined.
(Fair warning though: it's a bit of a ramble.)

The decision to 'press the reset button' was prompted by two unrelated but equally silly things.

One: I recently sent a friend some of my art cards for a giveaway she was running to celebrate her blog's Birthday. It made me think 'oh, I wonder when my blog's birthday is?' (Not that I'd ever done anything to mark the occasion before, I was just curious) anyway, I'd missed it by three weeks. And I felt a bit bad. I know, stupid. Then I noticed I hadn't actually posted anything in three months and I felt bad some more, but also a bit unsure whether I really cared. Maybe I just wasn't the bloggy type anymore? I toyed with just deleting the whole thing and thinking no more about it, but in the end decided to ponder it a while longer. A few days later, thing no. 2 happened.

Then I started reading stacks of my old posts, got a bit nostalgic, then felt sort of weird again, because much as every one was full of precious memories, they were my memories and I suddenly didn't love the idea of them being 'out there' for public consumption.
Sooo, I deleted it all. Well technically - what I've actually done is archive it all for personal nostalgia sessions.

All those years blogging my way through pregnancy & new parent mayhem definitely served a purpose - I stumbled into the 'mummy blogger' world quite by accident, made some great friends & was lucky enough to have several great opportunities come my way as a result. Truthfully though, I never really felt like I fitted into the 'mummy blogger' box, and I definitely don't now. Not that mummy bloggers are a bad thing in any way - I just don't really want my family history online. It might be partly down to me journaling the old fashioned way again (as in, on paper), but whatever the case, a 'diary' style blog worked for me back then, but not so much now.

(Besides, if you really want to know what I'm up to everyday, you just have to peek at my Instagram - a picture's worth a thousand words after all.)

*Anyway* to the future... I guess you could say I'm planning to 'go back to my blogging roots'. This place will be the online version of my many notebooks, full of lists, favourite things, arty stuff, crafty stuff, random thoughts, shameless self promotion and a sprinkling of adventures from everyday life.

In a nutshell, I get a clean slate and my blog gets a new birthday. Hope you'll stick around to see what happens next.
(And if you made it through that whole ramble, you've either not got much on today or you're a bit brilliant. (or both). Either way, thank you.)
