Love Is...

With Valentine's Day just around the corner and my wedding a mere 6 months away,  I thought it would be appropriate to share a little something about Love

I was 15 when I first met Almost-Husband, and it was love at first sight. I was drawn to him in a way I had never been drawn to another human being and that remains true to this day.

We didn't wind up together until I was 19 years old. Now, at 29, after nearly 10 years and one beautiful daughter, I find myself more in love than I have ever been. Through all the ups and downs, through all the struggles and uncertainties of our youth, we have made it to this beautiful place that I am honored to call home.

That is what love means to me: home.

Love is feeling safe in another's arms, even when your anxiety is at it's worst.
Love is staying up until day breaks, talking about everything and nothing all at once.
Love is knowing you have someone on your side, no matter what.
Love is spending a lazy morning in bed, snuggling with your family.
Love is still getting butterflies when you see that special someone...even after a decade has passed.
Love is encouraging each other to be their best.
Love is the comfort to be 100% true to yourself, free from judgement.
Love is supporting crazy dreams.
Love is putting up with a boring job, bills, and responsibilities to provide for one another.
Love is leaving random notes in unexpected places.
Love is a constant stream of kisses, hugs, and "I love yous".
Love is making up after a silly argument, and feeling stronger for it.
Love is dancing in the rain.
Love is the smile you get whenever you hear that special song.
Love is in-jokes, silly faces, and playful jabs.
Love is forgiving each other, no matter what.
Love is trust.
Love is respect.
Love is wanting to share every new experience with each other.
Love is missing the other person when they're only at work.
Love is getting excited when you see something about the other person's favorite band, movie, or hobby.
Love is knowing you never want to be without one another.

Love is us.
