While Vermont is often known for cheese, maple syrup, and even our gorgeous fall foliage we also house a decent selection of craft breweries. I actually live a short distance from Harpoon and have gone to a few events on their brewery, however, I have been looking to explore the many other breweries, cideries, wineries, and distilleries in our beautiful state. I came across a book called Drink Vermont: Beer, Wine, and Spirits of the Green Mountain State by Liza Gershman and it seems to be a great go-to guide to all things alcohol in the state of Vermont.

This book features recipes, interviews, and reviews of breweries and distilleries across the state, from the Northeast Kingdom to Southern Vermont this book, visits The Alchemist who is the maker of the acclaimed Heady Topper (the top beer in America); Hill Farmstead who was named the 2015 Best Brewery in the World; and Putney Mountain Winery, makers of tasty wine such as  Apple Maple, Simply Pear, Rhubarb Blush, Putney Pommeau, Vermont Cassis, and Simply Cranberry using local fruits.

This book is seriously loaded with information, I was shocked that there were so many breweries, cideries, wineries, and distilleries in the state and I plan to take a trip(with this book in hand) this summer to some of the places listed in this book.
