2016 Holiday Gift Guide: Home Chef

I love meal subscription boxes because I feel they bring me out of my comfort zone and allow me to be creative without straying to far out of my comfort zone and I get to use ingredients I might not be able to find near me. I recently tried Home Chef and I can’t wait to tell you guys about the experience!

Home Chef is a subscription box that delivers perfectly-portioned ingredients with everything you need to prepare a home-cooked meal in about 30 minutes.

The first box I received was Rosemary-Cider Chicken and Steak Marsala with Parmesan Mash, The box was also supposed to contain their Pumpkin Pancakes & Bacon Brunch, however, these items were forgotten.

The Steak Marsala with Parmesan Mash was super easy to make and SO tasty!

The Rosemary-Cider Chicken was also super tasty! I am allergic to rosemary so I omitted it but It was still a tasty meal.

Because a meal was left out, I was sent a credit and ordered another box.

This box was Shrimp and Broccoli Alfredo and Apple, Bacon, and Cheddar “ABC” Grilled Cheese.

The Shrimp and Broccoli Alfredo was AMAZING! My only complaint was there was an issue with the amount of shrimp I was supposed to receive but Home Chef quickly credited my account for another box.

The Apple, Bacon, and Cheddar “ABC” Grilled Cheese was actually my favorite meal. The kale salad was so refreshing and the maple vinegarette was a great touch.

The last box I received featured S’mores Smoothies, Farmhouse Fried  Chicken and Pan-Seared Steak and Potatoes.

The S’mores Smoothies were so amazing and I actually have made this recipe a few times since receiving Home Chef and its a huge hit with my family.

The Farmhouse Fried Chicken was amazing however I competely butchered the sauce…..

My husband is a meat and potatoes type of guy so he was really excited to see another steak and potato dish. The sauces that came with the Pan-Seared Steak and Potatoes were AMAZING and I’ve actually made the horseradish-parsley mayo and yum yum sauce again.

I was really impressed with Home Chef, I got off to a rocky start with them because they always made everything right with just an email and would instantly credit my account. The quality of all of the products was high and I liked that the meats all came vacuum sealed. All of the meals were packaged very well and arrived completely cold which is great because with past boxes similar to this I’ve had meat arrive spoiled.

Home Chef is one of my favorite home delivery boxes so far and I would defiantly order from them again!
