Just Love by Us The Duo, Getting Back To Their Roots!

Tags: love album song

Just Love is the new album of Us The Duo, independently produced by Michael and Carissa after leaving their label. Yes, they left because somehow they felt that they didn’t even know what their music was anymore. They want to go back to their roots which is soul music. And it really shows in their new album.

Like their previous albums, Just Love is very personal and relatable. Not every Song is about the beauty of love, it also explores the darker aspects like the struggles faced by married couples, I guess. But what’s important is that you overcome the  problems and you become stronger together.

Carissa and Michael truly never disappoint. (Stop) Just Love sets the theme of the album. It is funky and the instruments and the vocals (individual voices) are great. And when they sing together in chorus wooaah they really sound amazing. But Look Up To A Sky is definitely my favorite. It is very likely my most played songs in the album. Why? Because most of us find ourselves away from our partner so this song will give us comfort and hope.  “When your heart is aching, to be close to mine just call me on the phone and look up at the sky.” Then Already Mine is the song that I’m going to dedicate to my special someone. Because it tells the reality that in love, it doesn’t mean that you won’t lose the spark, so you should do whatever it takes to rekindle the flame. “I’ll never stop trying to fall back in love with what’s already mine.“

I like the upbeat mood of Goodbye Forever and probably this song is for those women who are still bitter in love LOL. Come Running Back (Don’t you come running back, ‘Cause you’re lonely and you want me) and Not For the Better (Mirror, mirror on the wall, Don’t know who I am at all) are so pleasing to the ears.

Safe is the song when Carissa sounds like Lana. It is calming and haunting at the same time. Ugh, it gives me chills. Michael sounds so good in Bricks and Telephone.

Right Where I Should Be perfectly ends the album. It is uplifting and so bubbly. Overall, the album feels so organic that resonates positive vibes, but also deep and personal. I love you Mom and Dad can’t wait to see you again here in Manila.

Please download their album on Itunes and Spotify. Thanks!
