Fashionomics Report: February

Welcome to my second Fashionomics Report, where I bravely share my monthly spending on clothes!

Fashionomics Report: February

Traditionally, I feel a bit blah about my wardrobe options in February. This extends to my shopping habits, as the stores are already full of winter pieces, long before I want to even think about it. I thought my spending would be pretty low this month; but turns out I had a couple of impulse splurges 😉  … like this one:

dress and denim

Rockmans dress. I do love a bargain, and this one was reduced from $90 to $35, and fit like it was made for me! So although I needed a new Dress like a hole in the head, of course it had to came home (I sent a quick pic to Miss 19 first to see what she thought, and she agreed that I couldn’t leave it behind).

Crossroads denim jacket. Yes, I already have a Denim Jacket in my wardrobe. Trouble is, it’s really stiff and uncomfortable so I rarely actually wear it. This one on the other hand is so soft I just couldn’t resist; I took it with me to Melbourne (and it was just the thing for when I got chilly on the plane). It was $59.95, but the kids had given me a $25 Crossroads voucher for my birthday which eased the dent on my wallet somewhat 😉 .

Then I went op shopping … and came home with two pieces for a total of $5!

First was this gorgeous Flower maxi dress, so comfy. The elasticated straps had lost their stretch, so were miles too long, but it only took me about fifteen minutes to sew them to the correct length. This dress was $6, but was part of a half price sale so I got it for $3!

And forget what I said about not wanting to plan for winter, when I saw this fringed Crossroads poncho style top for $2, I grabbed it. I think it will be a great trans-seasonal piece to wear over a cami, and with jeans.

February summary

Items bought: 4
Total original ticket “value”: approx $157.95
Paid: $99.95
YTD Spend: $216.80

I went into this experiment thinking I would likely spend around $1000 a year on clothes. So far I am on track to spend about $1200 … we will just have to wait and see what the coming months hold!
