“Mighty oaks from little acorns grow”

The beginning of a New Year sparks many fresh starts; New Year resolutions, vision boards, goal setting and new opportunities.  For some, 2017 is just another New Year and for others it’s a chance for clarity, challenge and change.

For me, the beginning of a New Year is an opportunity to look back at the previous year and see what my accomplishments were, both Personally and professionally. What did I love about the year and what I didn’t love so much?    What I learned, what I want to do more of and what do I want to do less of.  My sister always says that “Knowing what you don’t want makes it easier to know what you do want”.

Sometimes knowing what you want is not an easy task but if you do know, that is only the beginning.  I find it’s the execution of the process of accomplishment that is the most difficult.  As I am writing this I am talking to myself just as much as I am sharing with you… Sometimes  we see  so many roadblocks in the way of our success.  For the most part, these barriers are in our mind, a product of our own limiting beliefs , a belief in our subconscious that holds us back but if we step back and look at our lives as a whole, ask yourself “what do you have to lose”? You don’t need to accomplish all your goals and dreams at once.  All we really need to do is take one small step in the right direction, followed by another. Sometimes these stepping stones are not a direct path but a wandering journey creating a distinctive pattern called YOUR LIFE.  Your decisions, your choices; take them one step at a time.  The important thing is that you are taking the steps.

We all “HAVE THE POWER”, the power of one little step leading you to the forest of the MIGHTY OAK!

Personally, my goal this year is for me to BE ME and be okay with it. I am trying something I have never done before and have started training for a mini triathlon.  I can’t remember when I was last in a pool and the only bike I own is a vintage cruiser.  My first step is finding the time to add this training to my day. ( I am happy to report I am onto my second step!!)

Professionally, this year I am excited to have an amazing team of people who are so passionate about helping people create a beautiful life. We will learn more about the endless possibilities of Chalk Paint ™ and share it with our customers.  Last year we received a lot of positive feedback about our fashion and jewelry department, so we are taking steps to introduce more and expand and experiment with these sections, what do we have to lose?

YOU have the POWER! Don’t let 2017 just be another year, what will be your first step?
