Coffee

Coffee Exposure

Nobody drank coffee in my family when I was growing up. My first exposure to the word “coffee” was on an audio cassette tape of an interview between inspirational speakers, Anthony Robbins and Captain Gerald Coffee.

My first cup of coffee was probably when I was eighteen, in some hotel, during a youth leadership conference. It was OK, but nothing to write home about.

Coffee Serendipity

A couple of years later, I was involved in a sales business and was prospecting everyone. One particular prospect lived in London, Ontario, so my business partner and I would venture out there.

My sister couldn’t believe it. Why would I take public transit for an hour, then drive for another hour, only to meet a stranger that may not join our venture—or they may not even show up for the meeting!

Our prospect did arrive at the coffee shop (Tim Horton’s, of course), and suggested that I buy an “English Toffee” Coffee. I declined, and she insisted.

I declined still, and she insisted even more.

She almost forced me to buy that English Toffee Coffee.

And… I loved it! It was the best coffee I had ever had in my entire life.

Coffee Comparison

I’ve tried Second Cup, Timothy’s and Starbucks coffees. Do I even need to mention “Coffee Time”? They all taste pretty “meh” to me. Even trying their various flavours and types doesn’t do it for me.

Tim Horton’s English Toffee Coffee became my go-to drink of choice. Oh, does it say so good!

Coffee Disruption!

Then, one day, Mr. Horton decides to remove the English Toffee from their menu. It was a very sad month, but at least my second choice of French Vanilla Coffee was still offered.

I have been drinking Tim Horton’s French Vanilla Coffee since. It’s so good, that now I’ve even forgotten how the English Toffee Coffee tasted.

Timmy’s tried to jazz it up by offering some shot flavors. They too were “meh”.

I love my Tim Horton’s French Vanilla Coffee.

I used to get a medium, but then the corporation switched all their sizes!

So, I started drinking a size up (even though it was still a medium), and was loving it.

Eventually, I would upgrade to the large.

Coffee Life

Now, I drink a large French Vanilla Coffee almost everyday.

That’s twenty years plus of Tim Horton’s, and counting…

How unhealthy is that?

I r-r-r-roll up the rim, but still, no win.

That prospect never did join our business, either. But if this message ever gets back to her, I want to say, “Thank You for impacting my life so significantly and so profoundly.”

Cheers!

Let’s love the world together…

Love,
[)anish /|hmed, blind visionary

P.S. All you’ve got to say is, “Large French.”
