Surviving the Pandemic and Mental Exhaustion.

Hi guys,

I know I don’t write as often as I used to. I’m trying to get back to it slowly yet surely, but the Mental Exhaustion of going through a lot of things.

I know that everyone is going through a lot with the pandemic and the state of the world lately. Even though we were doing online schooling before the pandemic hit, it Meant that this school year I didn’t feel safe actually sending Risi to do school in person. I wanted to try on 1st grade after doing just Kindergarten at home. Not being able to go the few places we did go was more exhausting than I thought. Watching people boycott masks and put others at risk has been mentally draining and as damaged what little faith I had for humanity.

I did manage to keep working, and for awhile that was going great as it was busy as heck. Then work hired more and more people and that meant it got a bit weird to try and make the money I was making before. Between work, schooling kids, and trying to survive everything, some things just fell apart. Some for the better, and some things have changed for the best as well.

I finally ended up completing my divorce, I had just let life coast because it seemed pointless to care about anything much anymore. Anyway…

In September I got hurt while working, I broke my left ankle, broke a chunk off my right knee cap, and badly sprained my right wrist. That meant a few weeks stuck in bed as I couldn’t easily get around at all. Also, the Pain was intense, so there was some heavy pain killers to survive at first. It took awhile just to be able to walk properly again on my right knee, because the injury made my arthritis pissed and it just didn’t want to hold my weight. I was stuck in a long knee/leg brace, and a big boot for my left leg. Combine all that with my typical daily pain and Fibromyalgia issues and… Everything just felt too much.

Thankfully I survived and managed to get up and moving decently again by the end of November, but holy crap my ankle hurt for so long.

Thankfully the year wasn’t all that bad, in the end my love life changed for the better. I finally have a significant other again and a relationship that I enjoy. He’s a great guy and we work hard to work through any misunderstandings we end up having. Which, since we’re from different cultures and were raised far different happen at times. I’m lucky he’s willing to talk through issues and not just shut me down or yell too much or anything like that.

I am going to keep trying to write more, because I really do miss writing here on my blog. I’ve had this for so many years and figured I need to really revive this part of my life and get to writing. I’ll get more posts that show more of the last year and such and to catch up with everyone.

Thanks for those who are still around and still checking in! I’ve noticed, and I’ll write more often and share more crafts and things too!
