M10 Show, week #27

Well, this week we enter the second half of our first year of the M10 show, and the second week of the Songs of Summer tabulations!  So I lined up one thing for the occasion, and am going to work on the fly on the second...

Elvis:  Hey, what's this about our food running behind?

Oh, hush, you won't starve, it just means that we might actually get done before we eat!

I don't care fer that much...

You could stand to lose a little weight, Buddy!  Anyway, if you'll get over there to the console, please, this week has two debuts, and both from people we're familiar with!  The one at #10...

Hey, what the heck?? First we have a dasher trying to get there, then we don't have a dasher, then they can't find a dasher, and now there's a new dasher and they're waiting on the food...

I told you to get off that!  They just picked up and are on their way!  Now, as I was saying, debuting with new stuff from a new EP coming out in a couple of weeks, here with her friends, the band Day Wave, is Hazel English!

*******************************************************

At least something good is coming out of Oakland these days!  So anyhow, I thought that perhaps these next couple of weeks we might go to our Martin Era 2.0 and share some of the songs that were number one this week! Starting with the sixes...

In 1956, it was Morris Stoloff's Moonglow and Theme From Picnic, for its first of 2 weeks...

In 1966...

Lemme guess, the Beatles...

No, sourpuss, it was the Mindbenders and Groovy Kind Of Love, for their single week...

And in 1976, it was Wings with a second week of Silly Love Songs!  Which, of course, is pretty close to the Beatles...

Oh, whatever...

KNOCK KNOCK

"Arf, Ruff!"

FOOD'S HERE!!!

Good grief, settle down , you two, you'll scare him off!

***Several frantically stuffing minutes later*****

Man, that was good grub!

See, you big baby! And not a bit late.  Now get over there and cue up the next tune... these boys last made the M10 back in the spring of 2016!  They have a new lp, When The Wind Forgets Your Name, due out in September; at #9, here's Built To Spill...

**************************************************************

So do some more o' those #1s!

I will, but first, I thought it appropriate for this week's aspiring M10 Songs of Summer to see the competition!  Here are the previous winners...

2016-

Tangerine's You'll Always Be Lonely, 9 weeks on and 4 at the top!

2017-

Another 4 week #1, 7 weeks on the ten, Foster The People's Sit Next To Me!

2018-

Caroline Rose with More Of The Same- another 4 week #1, 9 on the chart!

2019-

The one that really surprised me- Agnes Obel's Riverside, 10 weeks on the ten, but only one on top...

2020-

From the Cover Summer, The Shacks and Smile Now, Cry Later- 8 weeks on the chart, 2 at the top...

And last summer-

...illuminati hotties with Buck Meek and u.v.v.p., a whopping 11 weeks on, 4 at the top!

Here, King, why don't you give us the sevens this time!

All right, I will!

In 1957, it would be yers truly, an' All Shook Up!  That darlin' was at the very end of 8 weeks at the top!

In 1967, it was the Happenings an' I Got Rhythm...one an' only...

an' in 1977, it was KC an' the Sunshine Band an' I'm Your Boogie Man!

Good job!  Now, as for this week's list, you've heard 10 and 9...
