Tips for Choosing a Healthier Electrolyte Drink

Thank you to BODYARMOR Sports Drink for sponsoring this post on choosing a healthier electrolyte drink. All opinions are my own.

Staying hydrated is one of the most important things you can do for your health. Even being dehydrated a little bit can cause havoc with your body.

Because of some health issues, I have more trouble staying hydrated than the average person. So electrolytes have become a daily part of my life.

It's life-changing how much more energy I have when I'm hydrated compared to when I'm even a little dehydrated. I have learned to Drink more fluids, to salt my food a bit more and to use electrolyte drinks to help ensure I stay hydrated.

I use a few different types of electrolyte drinks depending upon whether I want something powdered or pre-mixed. I typically use powders at home and pre-mixed options when I'm on the go.

When I'm choosing an electrolyte drink, there are a few things I look for:

  1. Natural ingredients
  2. Natural colors
  3. Natural flavors
  4. Natural preservatives
  5. Low in natural sugars
  6. Good electrolyte balance

BODYARMOR LYTE Sports Drink and BODYARMOR SportWater both fit into those criteria, so I like to grab one of those options for when I'm on the go. They're new for 2018, so if you haven't seen them yet, look for them.

BODYARMOR LYTE

BODYARMOR LYTE is a natural, low-calorie sports drink with potassium-packed electrolytes, coconut water and vitamins. Each serving contains only 20 calories and 3 grams of sugar.

It's naturally flavored and sweetened (with pure cane sugar, stevia and erythritol) and has no colors from artificial sources. BODYARMOR LYTE is currently available in four flavors, including Peach Mango, Cherry Berry, Orange Citrus and Blueberry Pomegranate.

My favorite is Peach Mango – yum!

BODYARMOR SportsWater

BODYARMOR SportWater is a premium sport water designed by athletes, for athletes. It has a Performance pH of 8+ and a proprietary Sports Electrolyte formula. It comes in a wide-mouth bottle so you can hydrate faster.

BODYARMOR Sports Drink also announced this week that 6-packs will now be available at several retail locations across the U.S. including Kroger, Stop & Shop, Wegmen’s, King Kullen, Food Town and ShopRite.

If you are looking for a tasty electrolyte drink option when you're on the go, check out the BODYARMOR line at your local retailer.

Have you tried BODYARMOR LYTE or BODYARMOR SportWater yet?
