Project Discover Week #7

I promised myself after last week’s cake photo that I wouldn’t distract you with food photos, but when it comes to this week, it is apropos. Mr. Misadventures and I are saying goodbye to carbs for awhile and hello to beans, greens and proteins.  We both need to lose weight, not just because I want to get back into my former clothes, but now also because our doctors have said we must.

Being the Type-A project planner people we are, the best way to do that is a “go big or go home” approach. We are committed to a strict diet for the foreseeable future along with increased exercise to get the weight off.

The good news is that we walked three days in a row this week. Rain be damned! This morning I bought a great pair of Marmot rain pants with my REI dividend.  Shopping at REI pays off in the form of Christmas in March every year and we were pleasantly surprised to find that our dividend paid for my new rain pants and new walking shoes for the misters.

So now we can walk rain or shine. We’ve gone out in the rain before and my jacket keeps me Completely Dry from mid-thigh up, but my legs get soaking wet. Now I stay completely dry, tried them out this afternoon and they are awesome!

After five days in a hotel, we got our house on wheels back! The rig is back in perfect condition. It was so nice to have our bed back, our fridge, etc. but I loved having super fast wifi in the hotel. We are back to the slow drip we get at the RV park. I usually give up and just tether with my phone which gets me what I need, but hello data plan charges!  My current phone plan is up next week so we are signing up for something new that gives us much more data.  Internet connectivity has been the bane of my existence since we got the RV.

On the blog front, I have been working on several sponsored posts that will be appearing soon and really focusing on Pinterest.  I spent several hours creating Pinterest-sized images for popular older posts and I will spend more time this weekend doing the same.  I joined several Tailwind Tribes, worked all my group boards and scheduled a lot of pins.

I love the Tailwind tool and am using it every day.  It has made life way easier. By the way, if you would like to try it out, I recommend the free trial, that’s how I tried it and eventually bought it. Use this link and if you do decide to try it out. Then i you sign up, you’ll get $15 off (and so will I).

I took the Pinning Perfect course from Melissa Culbertson several years ago and thought it was fantastic.  But I just purchased another e-course. I’m not going to share the name because yet I haven’t taken the course yet, and I won’t recommend anything I haven’t done myself. Pinterest is the number one traffic driver for Misadventures with Andi, so I will continue to invest time and money there.

Project Discover is spawned from my 2017 word of the year, discover. Besides looking for a job I am focused on three things:

  1. Discover(ing) Portland
  2. Discover(ing) Exercise
  3. (re)Discover My Blogging Mojo

You can follow along every week in my Project Discover Weekly Updates.

That’s been my week, what have you been up to?
