Zimbra Collaboration System (ZCS) Installation on Fedora

  





  1. Preparation

  2. 1. Putty
    2. VM
    example :
    OS Fedora
    RAM 2GB
    HDD 40GB
    Desc: VM fresh install without postfix, Mail Transfer Agent (MTA), apache, nginx, bind9, dnsmasq.

    3. Public IP : 123.250.10.112

    4. FQDN :  one.zimbra.com


  3. Installation

  4. Login to the server via ssh with terminal or putty
    Desc: I use sudoer user 'bangandi'
    [[email protected] ~] $

    then login as root,
    [[email protected] ~]$ sudo su -
    [[email protected] ~]#

    Download Zimbra Collaboration Open Source Edition
    Link: https://www.zimbra.com/open-source-email-overview/

    Upload the zcs compressed file with Filezilla or winSCP to /home/bangandi or /home/your-username

    Check zimbra file
    [[email protected] ~]# cd /home/bangandi
    [[email protected] bangandi]# ls
    .ssh
    zcs-NETWORK-8.8.8_GA_2009.RHEL7_64.20180322150747.tgz

    Untar the file
    [[email protected] bangandi]# tar -xvf zcs-NETWORK-8.8.8_GA_2009.RHEL7_64.20180322150747.tgz
    [[email protected] bangandi]#
    [[email protected] bangandi]# ls
    .ssh
    zcs-NETWORK-8.8.8_GA_2009.RHEL7_64.20180322150747.tgz
    zcs-NETWORK-8.8.8_GA_2009.RHEL7_64.20180322150747
    [[email protected] bangandi]# cd zcs-NETWORK-8.8.8_GA_2009.RHEL7_64.20180322150747
    [[email protected] zcs-NETWORK-8.8.8_GA_2009.RHEL7_64.20180322150747]#

    Run the installer
    [[email protected] zcs-NETWORK-8.8.8_GA_2009.RHEL7_64.20180322150747]# ./install.sh


    > At this step, Zimbra will check the required packages and will ask you to agree 
    to their installation.
    Press Y

    > And then choose the zimbra package:
    Select All (Y)

    > Next step is configure "zimbra-store" for getting admin password.
    Type number 6 ( zimbra-store)

    > Then choose number "4" (Admin Password) and enter. and then type your password.

    > Then press 'r' for previous menu (Main menu)

    > Apply all configuration:
    Type Yes



  5. Test the installation

  6. Switch to user zimbra, to test your zimbra server is running or not.
    [[email protected] ~]# su - zimbra
    [[email protected] ~]$ zmcontrol status

    Then try to access zimbra from web browser:  https://123.250.10.112/ or https://one.zimbra.com

    and
    Admin page: https://123.250.10.112:7071 or https://one.zimbra.com:7071

    Done.


  7. Uninstall Zimbra

  8. [[email protected] ~]$ exit
    [[email protected] ~]#
    [[email protected] ~]# cd /home/bangandi/
    [[email protected] bangandi]# cd zcs-NETWORK-8.8.8_GA_2009.RHEL7_64.20180322150747
    [[email protected] zcs-NETWORK-8.8.8_GA_2009.RHEL7_64.20180322150747]# ./install.sh -u
