Is it important to you for your kids to learn about healthy eating and nutrition?

I find that the easiest way to instill healthy habits is to get Landon involved in making our food — to get him to pick tomatoes from our garden, to have him help with baking healthy cookies, altering the recipe to make it more nutritious, or by letting him be the pancake maker.

When we make baked goods, it’s like a science lab in our kitchen — we try to add as many Healthy ingredient as possible while making the cookies or cakes or pancakes yummy: flax or chia seeds, Xylitol, nuts, protein powder, or apple sauce.

You might have heard me talk about our green pancakes (from hemp protein powder), ha!

I think it’s so important to get children involved in the cooking process, and there are so many opportunities for kids to learn different skills in the kitchen.
