Although it’s easy to find Tretinoin in many countries, in the UK it’s a little harder to find a good supplier. In Spain, for example, you can buy Retirides over the counter (Spain’s version of Tretinoin)
I have been using tretinoin for almost 6 years, and in that time I have used various different suppliers. Basically, wherever I could get it! Eventually I found Dermatica, which is a UK based pharmacy, delivering Tretinoin in the UK.
Can I Recommend Dermatica?
Yes, I got on very well with their service. You do have to subscribe, but you can choose to receive your Tretinoin every two months rather than every month which was very helpful to me as I don’t use it every day.
A while ago I found myself a new botox provider in Bath and she supplies Obagi Skin care which to my mind, is the best there is. I have never used a Tretinoin that didn’t dry my skin to some degree and this really doesn’t. Granted, you cannot buy Obagi products without a prescription in the UK, but if you can get hold of it, I highly recommend it.
If you sign up with Dematica, you will be asked some medical questions and some questions about your skin and your expectations of anti-ageing skin care. You’ll also be asked if you regularly use an SPF. A doctor will then read over your request and either agree or disagree that Tretinoin is right for you. You will also have to upload some photographs of your bare skin.
I’d suggest that you say you are already using it when you fill out the questionnaire. This way, there is no reason for them to decline your request.
What Strength Tretinoin Should I Use?
If you’ve never used it before, I would definitely suggest that you start with the lowest strength which is 0.025% – Tretinoin is extremely strong and it may well irritate your skin for a few weeks before you get used to it. If you go in at 0.5% or 1% it will be a little extreme. I used a 0.025% for at least six months.
