Buhari Approves Ekwueme’s Treatment Abroad

PRESIDENT Muhammadu Bubari has approved immediate treatment of ailing former Vice-President, Dr Alex Ekwueme, outside the country.

The President’s approval followed a brief he received yesterday on the medical condition of the former Vice-President.

The approval, according to a statement issued by the Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu, covers the charter of an Air Ambulance for Ekwueme’s emergency movement and the cost of his treatment.

President Buhari prayed that God would grant the elder statesman speedy recovery.

The President has also congratulated business mogul, philanthropist and nationalist, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, as he celebrates his 75th birthday anniversary with family, friends and well-wishers.

Buhari, in a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, joined the business community, political associates and colleagues of the versatile investor and publisher in celebrating the many achievements and milestones in the life of the statesman, who has won many awards for his contributions to national development.

The President affirmed that Chief Iwuanyanwu, Ahaejiagamba Ndigbo, remains one of the strong pillars of Nigerian democracy through his seminal and material contributions to party politics and consistent advocacy for the sanctity of votes and the rights of the poor in Nigeria.
