Quadri, Onaolapo For Hungary Open

Aruna Quadri will lead four other Nigerian players to the 2017 International Table Tennis Federation World Tour, Hungary Open, in January.

The competition, which is the first World Tour of the year, will hold between January 17 and 22 in Budapest.

Nigeria will parade only male players, who are all based in Europe. Aruna will be joined by Italy-based duo Kazeem Makanjuola and Olajide Omotayo and Portugal-based duo Ojo Onaolapo and Bode Abiodun.

Nigeria will compete in the men’s singles and doubles of the event. Abiodun will pair Makanjuola while Olajide will pair Ojo and Quadri will pair Egyptian rival Omar Assar in the doubles.

The Hungary Open will feature 343 players from 54 countries.

President of the Nigeria Table Tennis Federation, Enitan Oshodi, said the Tour would start another busy year for the sport in the country.
