Why do people make New Years Resolutions?
Some people make resolutions to make themselves better. Other want to loose weight. Still others have a very long list of issues, habits they want to change, quit or start doing.
For me I have always made the resolution to not make any resolutions. But this year I am going still not going to make any resolutions.
Instead of making resolutions I want look at it more as setting goals.
What does resolution mean: according to dictionary.com it means;
What are goals?
According to dictionary.com the term goal means; “
It is my goal this year to achieve a set list of things I want to accomplish.
Here is my list of goals I want to achieve in the next three to six months:
1st I want to loose some weight. I need to loose twenty to twenty-five pounds for health purposes.
2nd I want to write five to seven post a week.
3rd I want to engage with more bloggers on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest and Tailwind.
4th I want to become more organized, writing my goals down, checking them off as they are accomplished.
5th I need to learn more about blogging from top bloggers.
6th I want grow more, promote more, and earn more in 2018.
I know that it takes time and patience to do some of these goals. But being a stay at home dad/husband is difficult financially to provide for my family. On this blog you have seen me do product and book reviews, promote events and places to visit.
I have links to those products on Amazon and Commission Junction. Recently I got an email from Amazon telling that I would have to reapply to the “Associates Program” because I didn’t have any qualifying sales. Commission Junction also sent me an email the other day saying the same thing, “make a sale or we will cut you off.”
I also receive email all the time companies wanting to promote a product or a cause. I have sent some of them emails back telling them what I charge for a post like theirs. I wait for a response for a few days send them another email wanting to confirm, but I don’t ever receive a response back.
So I get discouraged, then I procrastinate about writing more blog post. I will crank one out this week, wait another two weeks the write another one. Feeling let down and discouraged and blogging.
With my wife being disabled and not having the money to travel it is difficult to do reviews for traveling long distances. That’s why I choose to do a lifestyle blog and not a travel blog. I didn’t expect to make thousands of dollars my first six months but I was hoping to make a couple of hundred dollars a month.
Needless to say I am a little discouraged about the last six months. However, I am hoping that the next six months will be better than the last. I need to get my nose to the grind and learn, study, and work for the next two months.
That is my New Years Goals for 2018. I hope that you don’t let my discouragement discourage you from blogging. I am just venting out my frustrations.
Happy New Years and from
May This New Year Illuminate Your Life and Bless You with Prosperity and Joy, Today and Always
