One reason I love my Essential Oils is helping others. I have learned in the past week that many people do not know the benefits essential oils have to the human body. Other people believe that Young Living is a MLM (Multi-Level Marketing). This past week I have learned that people are scared to try essential oils because they don’t want to break the bank, or they’re even turned off by MLM or direct sale companies. However, Young Living is different. Yes, Young Living is a MLM, but it’s not your traditional one. Many MLM’s offer people a way to quit your 9-5 job, make money from home, be your own boss, and set your own hours. Don’t get me wrong, Young Living does offer this, but it has something else that majority of MLM’s don’t have; educating people. This is where my passion of helping others comes in.
Hang with me for a sec, because I am gonna briefly talk about how my approach of helping others with Young Living started.
My story goes like this: I was sitting in my living room on my computer doing homework while watching football, and I get a text from my mom. “Hey Kenz, Lisa is selling a Young Living kit that comes with 11 oils and I think I am going to get one, would you be interested?” First off, I didn’t even know that Young Living sold kits, and secondly, I didn’t know that they had a business side either. Side note;I was using Young Living oils before my mom had texted me, so this wasn’t a brand new company that I have never tried. So, my response to her text went like this, “Let me look more into it, but tell Lisa to text me just in case if I buy one.” That’s when it all started. A text from my mom, and a friend I haven’t talked to in years. She texted me right after I had been texting my mom, and she didn’t straight up ask about buying the oils, but she asked if I wanted to learn more about essential oils. Of course I wasn’t going to turn away free education, so for the next 45 minutes I listened and wrote down everything she talked about. I was so blown away about the endless benefits essential oils can do for the human body, the amount of chemicals we are in contact with on a daily basis, feeling disgusted with myself for not knowing any of this, and bought the kit. After buying the kit, she had sent me book after book, people who I have never met in my life had contacted me, freebies from everyone in my group, friendships that I would never imagine happening in a business, and SO MUCH education about the essential oils.
But what about helping others you may ask? I learned from Young Living and my group that it is not about the money, or how many people you recruit, but it’s about helping others by educating people. No, they did not directly tell me it was only for educating people, but when your social media isn’t filled with the how much “free time” or “how to make your own hours” posts, then you know that is not the point of selling the product. Instead, when you personally have benefits from using the product, share that. Just like tonight, my granny came over to eat dinner and we were just talking and she had mentioned that she was interested in using Thieves and other oils to help support her health, but she was wondering if it was worth spending the money. I began explaining and helping her understand everything about why it is important to use essential oils and gave her a book to read because the amount of research and education is a lot to take in over dinner. As I began typing this blog, I get a text from her saying, “Please order the oils for me ASAP.” So, I called her and she could not stop telling me about what she learned etc… This was not about recruiting someone, but it was about educating someone about essential oils in hopes they pass that knowledge on to someone else. That is my goal for the rest of this year and next year. I don’t want your money. I want to help you and your family learn more about essential oils and how they can help with your health and wellness. I want people to know that these oils work. I don’t want people scared to even ask me for more information because they’re scared I would sale them something right away. So, my question to you is this; Do you know what essential oils are?
