It is definitely very unlike me to do two blog posts in two days, I have not done it for such a long time now. I suppose I really just 'felt the urge', and I guess, as a blogger, when you just feel like blogging, you just have to roll with it.....
Today was my day off, and I will admit I was just a little bit lazy this morning, I had a bit of a lie in. I treated myself! And I thoroughly enjoyed it. It got to about ten past eleven and, well I thought I had better get up and try and make something of the day really. The thing is, I wasn't even out late last night either. Although I did do a blog post yesterday too so I was a bit later going to sleep than I had planned.
I have always found I am more motivated to write at night.
I did enjoy my lie in. I had already decided today that I was going to do a bit of drawing. Not so long ago I did quite a bit of drawing, so I thought, why not. Do something different. I didn't want to use the same A3 pad I am using for my Vogue collages (which I am still doing as well) but I knew I had others....somewhere. I found them in the end, at the back of my wardrobe, like, flat upright at the back of the wardrobe. I do still have a habit of just shoving stuff in there. I just thought I would have a little go and see what I came out with.
I basically just started putting square type shapes on the page to see what I came up with. I didn't overthink it, I just rolled with it. Generally I tend to use paints, acrylics or water colours to colour them in. But today I just decided to go with the basic Crayola colouring pencils. I genuinely, really enjoyed doing this piece today. It was very therapeutic. And calming.
The thing is now, this one Drawing has given me loads more ideas. I have always been a big fan of geometric art. In fact, the geometric 'style' in general. I have certainly found that my place of work, House Of Fraser, has been very 'geometric' inspired with it's products, particularly in the last two or three years anyway. It is still very much 'on trend'!
So my drawing took up quite a bit of time today. But I have been doing a bit of colouring also. I caught up with a bit of Hollyoaks, which is basically the only soap that I watch. And also today I have started watching the first season of Rookie Blue again, as I have just purchased the second series from Amazon the other day. It has been a while since I have watched it but it is such a great show. Also, I am a bit of a sucker for a guy in a uniform! Rookie Blue was actually one of the shows that was cut from Amazon Prime a while back, and it's one of the reasons, not 'the' reason but one of the reasons why I cancelled Prime in the end. Hey, it saved me some money.
Thanks for reading.
