I know that I am not the only one doing this, and that doesn’t make me feel that much better. I seem to attract the attention of people that aren’t what I what I was Hoping for!
Or I do find some amazing friend or lover and circumstances or life pulls apart seemingly too quickly….
Well, the good news is it isn’t your fault. We are taught that our actions and intentions can affect the world around us, and this is true to an extent. Remember that there are lots of people on the planet presumably doing the exact same thing as you. In the end, we are just progressing through the wheel of options. It’s a large wheel so just keep moving and you will find what you are looking for!
As you look around your circle of friends and acquaintances, do you smile in appreciation or wile out wishing for more? It’s easy to get caught up in the dream partner, or the perfect best friend. Hollywood and lazy fiction has taught us that there is a perfect somebody out there and that is true but your aren’t likely to recognize them for what they are.
The people that come into our lives, were summoned or sought specifically you for a reason. You’ve been projecting the desire for a smart, quirky, relatable person that can help you reel in your sinking madness? Oh, but the perfectly human person that showed up on your doorstep is not only the ‘one stop shop’ friend you were hoping for but they don’t even look like Beyonce or Magic Mike! Instead of crying out WTF, remember that they probably had similar expectations to yourself and are trying to cope with life the same as you.
We should never try streamline our lives so thoroughly that we view diversity as ‘not what we wanted’. Anyone that has shown an interest in the awesomeness that is you deserves the same attempt and respect. None of my best friends that have stood with me over the years started out that way, it was something we worked on. Whether the person of your dreams or a friendly companion, we are all looking for something different and fun. I guarantee you have more examples of this your life than you may readily recount.
