Greens and Yellows

It's officially summer, it's too hot outside, and I can't move around much (thanks Aunt Flo, so unusually strong this time around haha tmi), so  I decided that the best way to take my mind off things would be to paint. I'm happy that I was at least able to produce these four little paintings from one whole sheet of watercolor paper.

If you're following my personal Instagram account, you'll find a common theme that reappears every so often, which is the color green. I like taking photos of leaves, plants, grass, hills and the like. I simply enjoy being surrounded by plants; they live quietly and no one sees them grow, they just do. I'd describe them as secretive.

A couple of weeks ago as I was on my way to the office, I decided to walk through Ayala Triangle for a change of scenery (there's basically many ways to get to my building). I then noticed that there were a bunch of sunflowers planted at the middle of the park. It certainly brightened my mood, seeing them facing the sun.

I wanted to draw something in the middle of this. I'm just not sure what. But I certainly knew that I didn't want to draw a human. :-)

Do you guys have houseplants? We keep a few in our living room, and I like how it's simply green with yellow accents.

I didn't want to add more to this anymore, because I simply felt content with just this. Maybe I'll add something more in the future!

Here's to painting more of what I see! :-)

On another note~ I never realized how hot it was until weekends came, since I would be at home in the house, doing chores, be out, and whatnot. I guess this is because most days of the week I'm inside the office, where it's really cold. Don't forget to drink lots of water and to wear sun cream!!
