EASTER FUN + CHOCOLATE CREAM TART RECIPE

EASTER FUN. I love the Holidays! Cooking, listening to music, picking outfits, creating makeup looks, going to other homes and welcoming people into your own. Just love it!

It passed and it was an interesting experience. On Sunday morning, me and my boyfriend painted the eggs, made the pie and other little things. It was supposed to be just the two of us but he invited his brother so the more the better (probably).

This was my second Easter away from home by myself and it taught me that if you really want to do something, make a day special for you and the people you love – all you need is organizing and effort! Experiences are what counts on days like these. We had the most fun painting the eggs and making the food in the morning.

This Easter I chose to wear a lacy blue long sleeved dress from ‘New Yorker‘ (EU peeps should know!). My makeup was pretty simple – little contouring, mauve colored eye shadow look using Essence All About Roses palette, and some purple Essence lipstick from their Matt Matt Matt colection (07 Purple Power)!

The menu was pretty simple – some white sweet wine, apple cinnamon iced tea, pork steaks with boiled potatoes, painted eggs, some condiments, fruit and the king of all chocolate cream vanilla tart pie! The latter was the most exciting part to make. We do not have an oven so baking anything is a struggle but this was so easy and fun to make.

I was looking for a easy Tart pie with Chocolate Cream recipe online that does not require baking. I found some options that were not so appealing but then I came across this beauty on Cleobuttera.com. The tart was delicious and creamy. The recipe was a little different since she used some hazelnuts and made her own tart crust and glaze, whereas I took my own easier and CHEAPER twist and bought my tart crust, added some fruit and sprinkles on top. On the original recipe the instructions are long and in American measurements which is always more difficult for us Europeans. So here I am giving you my version of recipe and measurements in US and EU!

CHOCOLATE CREAM VANILLA TART RECIPE (MY VERSION)
INGREDIENTS
    • For the Filling:
    • 2 teaspoons granulated sugar
    • ½ cup or 300 ml heavy cream
    • ⅓ cup (2 oz) or 60 g semisweet chocolate chips or chopped from a bar
    • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
    • 1¼ cup (13oz) or around 400 g Nutella or any other chocolate cream
  • You also will need fruit of your choice for the topping and any kind of sprinkles if you wish.
INSTRUCTIONS
1. Make your own tart shell or buy one. I bought one so it is perfectly fine to use it.
2. Using a saucepan bring the heavy cream to simmer over medium-high heat. Take it off the heat, stir in the Chocolate and butter, stir a little bit and cover the pan. Let it sit for couple minutes to melt properly. Mix more if needed until it’s smooth. If there are some chocolate or butter grains, put it on the heat a little bit more and stir until the texture is completely smooth.
3. Off the heat, Stir in the Nutella or chocolate cream of you choice. I made it with ‘Spar’ chocolate cream which is just as delicious and way cheaper than Nutella. Again – stir until everything is smooth.
4. Pour the chocolate cream filling evenly over the tart. Put it on a plate or any flat item and place it in your fridge(If you made your own tart, I advice you to wrap it with plastic). It is best to let the tart sit there from 3 hours to a day. The longer the better.
5. After it sits for around 2-3 hours, take it out and put some fruit of your choice. I used strawberries and banana’s. Also if you’d like put some sprinkles. I used some heart shaped candy sprinkles to give it some crunch on top.  Put it back in the fridge.
6. When serving, cut a peace and serve at room temperature. Enjoy!
If you’d like to make your own tart shell or add a glaze on top, check out the original recipe that’s linked above.
You can always change up some ingredients, make it more healthy, vegans or use something else instead of fruit like nuts or so on. Whatever you do, I’ m sure it is going to be delicious!  Just make sure you keep it cold.
That’s all for today.
xoxo, AD.
