Is That Me In That Photo!?

The other day I got a text, MMS, from an old friend asking if it was me in the Photo. I was pretty sure it was. My ring (which I’ve designed myself), my watch and clothes, my book, my nail polish and, to be totally sure, it was my face. But I had no idea of where from.

The surroundings wasn’t familiar. At all. So my first thought was that this so called friend had been stalking me and through a plant or something at a restaurant had taken a photo, true paparazzi-style. But no, he said he’d just come across it but couldn’t remember where from. I might add I didn’t ask about his stalking ability… But the more I looked at the photo, the more it looked familiar to me. And I realised where it was from.

A few months back me and a friend had been on a small getaway weekend at an Island called Ven (Hven). For me it was just a spontaneous relaxing trip away from home, even though I had my school books with me. For my friend, it turned out to be a business trip. Well, he was supposed to do some work anyway, but as he knew the owners of the hotel we stayed at, and they needed a bit of help with refreshing their homepage… And he do love his camera. And he do take great photos. And you never know when you need a favour in return… (I’ll remember that by the way) But not that he needed or normally do need it, but friends are friends. Anyhow… There is now circulating a photo in an add on Facebook for this hotel, with me in it. Stuffing my mouth full of breakfast (it was good though, and home made!).

Everyone in the area where I live have been to this island. It’s known for cycling around the island in the summers, not a very busy island in the winters though. But I had never been before, so I truly enjoyed it. It was just after season, so not busy, which I like. ’Turistgården – House of Hven’, as it’s called, is a great little place to stay the night. If not staying the night, their restaurant is well worth a try. I mean like, wow! I eat out a lot, maybe more so before but still, this food just melted away in my mouth. To get that kind of food, and so well made, in a small place like that (it’s a very tiny island!) in the off-season…

And I have to add, if you’re not staying the night, touché! The breakfast was spot on, home made. Did I say the owner used to be a baker? It was not too much, just enough, and you didn’t feel like you were missing anything at the buffet. I went home well rested and, as it turned out, I did get sneaked up upon with a camera after all. One I didn’t know was aiming at me! But that’s the way to get a normal not pulling a face photo of me, so well done!
