Okay, so this DIY is definitely a major throwback for me. It was one of the first DIY posts but I made for my blog when I was 14 and I have to say that this is without a doubt the new and improved version. When I think about the point in my life I was at when I first made, this and the person I am today there is such a contrasting difference in every aspect of this post: my photographs, the effort that I put into this project and the outcome. I have definitely grown and no longer a naive 14-year-old girl, but I have to say I'm still in love with DIYs and I don't think that's something that's ever gonna stop. So without further ado, I present my first DIY.
I went into this thinking that it would be an easy DIY and that I could knock out in a few minutes. Although it is definitely simple, it took some experimenting and things might have got a bit out of control with the Sugar and all the sticky substances used.
I love this Lip Scrub because it's just so natural as well as a great product to always just have with you and because you can find pretty much everything you need at home. There is no need to waste £12 on a small tub of lip scrub from The Body Shop or Lush; unless of course, you are absolutely in love with that product and in that case I say: go for it.
When it comes to mixing the Ingredients I started off with the sugar but only using about 3 tablespoons for each recipe. Then added the liquid substance which made the sugar a gloppy texture and not really grainy which is what you need to really get this product to exfoliating. Then from that point adding the rest of the sugar and keep adding some more until you feel that you've got to a point where it will exfoliate your lips without really taken away from the flavour that you want. It is really that simple and the best part is that you can experiment with any flavour you like.
