All homeowners want the same thing – luxury. The thing with adding luxury to any room in the house is the cost. For the most part, it's expensive and way out of most people’s budgets. Luckily, this pitfall doesn’t have to stop you in your tracks. It is possible to add an element of elegance and glamour without spending a fortune. Luxury for less. The majority of your guests won’t be able to tell the difference. After all, perception is just as powerful as reality.
Here are a few bargain basement tricks I use to help my home decor appear more luxurious.
Conceal The Television and ElectronicsSadly, TVs have a way of lowering the tone. It isn’t that they aren’t fashionable or trendy because there are lots of sleek and slimline versions. It’s mainly a huge, black TV doesn’t fit in with the rest of the room. For obvious reasons, this is a problem as it is unheard of to create a living space without a television. Thankfully, there are ways to hide it or conceal its impact. Mirrors, for example, take the focus off the TV as they demand attention. Also, additional focal points like wall art can have a similar effect. Sometimes, something as simple as installing the TV on a side wall works, too, as does pointing the furniture in a different direction. If none of those are feasible options, purchasing a storage unit with doors that can be closed when the TV is not in use will hide the TV from view.
Buy Furniture SetsYour furniture says a lot about the entire house. If it comes across as cheap, so will the living room. Living room furniture is probably the priciest expense on your shopping list. The trick is to buy pieces in sets to reduce the cost and keep the room looking uniform. Living room sets are readily available for a fraction of the price because they come in bulk. And, there is no reason to worry about the style as there are plenty of contemporary sets that will fit into any home.
Invest In LessThe great thing about modern interior design is that minimalism is a popular choice. From your point of view, this is a great thing as it makes your job simpler and cheaper. There is no doubt that buying fewer pieces is less expensive than buying more. Plus, it’s a lot easier to rearrange a handful of pieces than it is to deal with dozens.
Remember to keep it simple and classy, and your Living room will look luxurious.
