Sunday for me always seem to be a day of rest and relaxation, so this Sunday followed the norm when I wasn't running around photographing concerts, I rolled up into Upper Cup Coffee on a lazy afternoon to get a pour-over,bagel,banana and chop it up with Coach Neil. Often we get into some deep conversation on what ills the world around us and share our philosophical concepts on the state of black America. This Sunday followed the norm just perfectly unrehearsed timing, as I was pulling up Coach Neil had just pulled up moments before. We greeted each other with a brotherly hand shake, shoulder embrace and proceeded to enter church.

Opening people up to conversation is such a lost art to a generation of cyber-holics. As I sat at the table facing the door walked into the sunlit doorway was this beautiful Nubian Queen dressed in African kente cloth, natural Afro locks, coco brown complexion with a Kemetic Ankh around her neck. It was obvious she had pride in her African heritage.

She walked up to our table sat down and began a conversation with Coach Neil.

Up until the time Coach introduced us the chair I sat in was an empty coffee cup that sat waiting for a refill. Once we were formally introduced, she smiled over at me, acknowledge my presence as they continued their one-way conversation, and me, I sat preoccupied slashing through music urban news on my android device.

The generosity of inclusion allowed me to get into their mix when Coach Neil asked Keisha about her poetic expression. Humble and unassuming she shared with Coach that she mixed her poetry over some tracks when Coached informed her that she should share some tracks with me. Curious, I quickly bounced into the conversation by asking her did she have any tracks online?

Yes! She excitedly replied.
