Cable television network Lifetime has announced its plans for a Britney Spears Biopic, just as the singer is set to release her ninth studio album Glory. Rising actress Natasha Basset is set to star as a young Britney, with the film detailing Spears’ early career, relationship with Justin Timberlake, and her personal struggles with her family life. In addition, the film will examine her relationships with Kevin Federline and her 55-hour-long marriage with Jason Alexander.

While the film itself is riddled with controversy, representatives of Britney Spears claim she has nothing to do with the film at all.
“Britney Spears will not be contributing in any way, shape or form to the Lifetime biopic nor does it have her blessing.”
While she may not be dabbling in the film industry anytime soon, the pop sensation is in full promo mode, preparing for the release of Glory and starring in the latest edition of “Carpool Karaoke” with James Corden. In addition, she’ll be performing at the MTV Music Video Awards this Sunday and has even held a charity contest with proceeds going to the Louisiana flood relief for a free trip to the show and a chance to meet her. Watch the trailer for her upcoming ‘Carpool Karaoke’ appearance tonight on CBS tonight.
