Cardi B performed her chart-topping hit “Bodak Yellow” on Jimmy Kimmel Live last night as part of his week of shows at the Brooklyn Academy of Music.
Kimmel, a native New Yorker, introduces Cardi as “a very special visitor from the Bronx” before the vivid rapper struts on stage, clad in head-to-toe hot pink, and delivers an enthusiastic, TV-friendly rendition of her trap anthem “Bodak Yellow.” Watch below.
Earlier this year, she became the first female rapper in 19 years to land a solo #1 hit when “Bodak Yellow” dethroned Taylor Swift’s “Look What You Made Me Do.” The last female rapper to top the charts was Lauryn Hill with “Doo Wop (That Thing)” in 1998.
