Ed Sheeran Cancels Asia Tour Dates After Breaking Both Arms in Accident

Earlier this week, it was reported that Ed Sheeran injured his arm in a cycling accident. “Ive had a bit of a bicycle accident and I’m currently waiting on some medical advice, which may affect some of my upcoming shows,” he wrote on Instagram.

Today, the “Shape of You” crooner has canceled several of his current Tour Dates, and detailed the painful injury. Sheeran has fractures in his right wrist and left elbow “that will leave me unable to perform live concerts for the immediate future,” he posted. (He didn’t write the caption himself, on account of the injury.)

A visit to my doctors confirmed fractures in my right wrist and left elbow that will leave me unable to perform live concerts for the immediate future. Sadly, this means that the following shows will not be able to go ahead as planned: Taipei, Osaka, Seoul, Tokyo and Hong Kong. I’m waiting to see how the healing progresses before we have to decide on shows beyond that. Please stay tuned for more details. PS – Ed isn’t typing this as he has both arms casted/bandaged.

Sheeran has canceled performances through November 5. He was scheduled to perform in Taipei, Osaka, Seoul, Tokyo, and Hong Kong. As it stands, his shows in Manila, Jakarta, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, Mumbai and Dubai concerts will go ahead as planned, assuming he makes a speedy recovery.

The rest of his Asian tour dates are scheduled through the middle of November, before breaking until March 2018.
