From the album of the same name, ‘Instant Replay’ was one of several signature songs by prolific dance pop singer / songwriter Dan Hartman

All the tracks on Hartman’s full length album (released on Blue Sky, CBS Records) topped the US Dance Chart for five weeks in 1978 and ‘Instant Replay’ peaked at #29 on the American Billboard Hot 100 pop singles chart, #44 on the R&B chart, and #8 in the United Kingdom.

The video for the song features Dan alongside future Kiss lead guitarist Vinnie Vincent, Hilly Michaels from the band Sparks on drums, and Hall & Oates veteran guitarist and former Saturday Night Live band leader G.E. Smith on bass.

Sadly, at the age of 43, Dan Hartman passed away prematurely in 1994 and would have celebrated his 66th birthday on December 8.
