I’ve been a part of the Beyhive since Destiny’s Child.
Beyoncé has always been at the top tier of Music echelon, so it was no surprise to me that the recently Unearthed video footage of her performing at age 10 was being auctioned off for a cool 3.8 million.
Ted Owens & Co., the London auction house confirms there are 12 official tapes of Beyoncé’s tender age and mega-superstar career-building years. The footage dates all the way back to her industry debut with her Star Search group Girls Tyme.
Sometimes people fail to remember that Bey has been slaying the music and dance circuit for nearly three decades. But this auction announcement is a pleasant reminder of that ― AND her ’90s-tastic fashion.
Immediately after watching the clip, I was ignited with some serious throwback feels. It’s so ’90s and I can’t get enough.
So while we wait for someone wealthy to buy the video tapes and share them on YouTube, let’s take a Yoncé-moment now to point out key elements of the impeccable ’90’s swag from the video below.
- 1. The weird half-bang hair-do-thing that DJ Tanner and your mom probably still has.
2. You know the half-sided ponytail/hair out in-the-back, reminiscent of Kimmy Gibbler.
4. Can’t forget the retro 90’s neon.
5. Over-sized shirts anyone?
