We’ve seen all shades of Lindsay Lohan over the years, sweet and sour, but it’s these days that we are seeing the more kind-hearted side of her.
We don’t know what brought out the philanthropist in the Mean Girls star but we are really liking it. In June 2016, she tweeted about the UK Brexit decision, took the time to visit refugee camps, and responded in a mature manner about crude comments that surfaced during Trump and Howard Stern’s interview. Since then, she has also opened up a nightclub in Greece after collaborating with a restaurant owner.
I met a wonderful aid worker (Azize) at The Refugee Camp in Antep. She saw that my eyes lit up when I told her that her headscarf is beautiful. She waved to me and said, come with me, I followed her and she gifted it to me. I was so moved and touched by this that I wanted to wear it in appreciation for all of the generosity and love I received from everyone at the camp. Thank you #Gaziantep #theworldisbiggerthan5 ❤️ thank you @fatmasahin
Page Six reports that Lohan has aligned with German energy drink company Mintanine, to supply Syrian refugee camps in Greece, Turkey, and elsewhere. She also serves the “blue caffeine lemonade” energy drink at her brand new nightclub. The drink is advertised as the “Blue tastes woohoo!” and claims it contains Guarana, and alternative to caffeine, taurine, aspartame, and inositol.
While a caffeinated blue drink may not be the ideal item to contribute to a refugee camp, it’s clear Lohan is working her way toward helping the community. At the camps, “there is hardly food, water, or anything,” said a friend of Lohan. “At this point, sending anything is helpful.”
