The certification comes less than two years after the song’s November 10th, 2014, release, which is a monumental feat on it’s own. “Uptown Funk” held the No. 1 slot on the Billboard Hot 100 for 14 weeks and has sold over 12,422,016 in downloads and 938,694,569 audio streams in the U.S. The video has streamed over 1.9 billion times on YouTube.

This makes Ronson and Mars only the thirteenth act to reach 10 million sales for a single or album since the RIAA’s gold and platinum program expanded in 1999 to include a diamond certified award.

Diamond-certified singles:

Carly Rae Jepsen — “Call Me Maybe”
Elton John — “Candle in the Wind 1997″/”Something About the Way You Look Tonight”
Eminem feat. Rihanna — “Love the Way You Lie”
Eminem — “Not Afraid”
Florida Georgia Line — “Cruise”
Imagine Dragons — “Radioactive”
Justin Bieber feat. Ludacris — “Baby”
Katy Perry — “Firework”
Katy Perry — “Dark Horse”
Lady Gaga — “Bad Romance”
