Chris Young Teams Up With Vince Gill on a New Song

Chris Young has a new album out Friday. It’s his fifth studio album and all the early signs are pointing to it being the best of his career. The record’s title track “I’m Comin’ Over” is quickly climbing the charts, his duet with Cassadee Pope is nothing less than addicting, and his collaboration with Vince Gill creates a powerful combination of distinct vocal styles.

Unfortunately, it’s unlikely this Song will hit radio before summer 2016. Young announced the spring leg of his I’m Comin’ Over Tour this morning with support from Cassadee Pope. That news means all signs point to “Think of You” being the second single off the album. However, as that song is burning up airwaves we’ll be holding steady with the opinion that “Sober Saturday Night” is the best song on the album. The mid-tempo break up song creates the perfect setting for Young’s booming vocals. Widely regarded as one of the premier voices in the genre, Young holds nothing back on the track. With Vince Gill providing underlying background support, “Sober Saturday Night” delivers one of the more refreshing vocal performances in recent memory.

Chris Young brings his I’m Comin’ Over World Tour with Cassadee Pope to the Lowell Memorial Auditorium on January 23.
