Salsa Queen Celia Cruz has been brought back to musical life with a new single “La Bandera Que Canta“. The song is part of a project called “Spoken Music”.

The “Spoken Music” project is presented by Celia Cruz Entertainment, a business entity focused on protecting the intellectual property of the Queen of Salsa. In other words, they are the ones that resurrected Celia Cruz for this project.

The “song” captures words spoken by the musical legend of Cuba mixed with the music of the renowned Cuban singer-songwriter Pavel Urkiza.

Needless to say, the song is a homage to Celia Cruz, who passed in 2003. I find it an interesting way to keep Celia in the memories of people not just with her songs, but also with her musicalized spoken words.
