London Grammar – Strong – Duet – Ken Tamplin and Kati Cher HD

Once in a great while, you get one of those songs that just smashes you right in the face and there’s no denying its greatness.

For Kati and myself, the song “Strong” by the London-based band London Grammar is one of those songs! In fact, Kati said it’s one of her all-time favorite songs.

The song was originally released in September 2013 in the UK.

One of the things I personally like most about the group is their thoughtful provoking lyrics.
They run a bit deeper than most music these days. But this catchy haunting song has some extraordinary, simple, memorable melodies that took me by storm when I first heard it.

I thought it would be interesting to take this song up a notch and make it sound like a giant “world music” piece, as I felt like some of the harmonic minor melodies lent itself to that.

So if you check out the original piece and my contribution you will see what I am talking about.

I do have mixed emotions about how much production I added to the song. On the one hand, the genius of this song is the simplicity of the original. On the other hand, I couldn’t help myself wanting to make it bigger and more anthemic.

You decide and let us know how you think we did.
