Aalborg Symphony Orchestra - Good review!

After the break, the stage was transformed. First with Mendelssohn-Bartoldy’s Overture The Fair Melusine, a serene and carefree movement, with wonderful melodies. The orchestra’s sound appeared luminously transparent with the wonderful intoned woodwinds.

Robert Schumann's sketch for a Symphony (Overture, Scherzo and Finale, Opus 52) continued on the same path – wonderful uncomplicated and melodious music – unlike the Manfred Overture at the beginning of the concert. During the Scherzo’s dimmed leggiero the room wore the sound – the kind of sound in this concert hall, one can almost feel on the skin. And the finale had that drive that gave the music direction, and at points made it festive.
