Josh Doyle INTERVIEW

Here we have ONE of your new year treats! The team was looking through some old emails and we came across TWO unseen interviews so, here's what you've been waiting for, a Josh Doyle interview from a couple of years ago...

1) What is it like being an up and coming artist?

Being an up and coming artist is cool because you're a new thing and people are excited about you. the bad thing is you have it harder to get a tour because you don't have as many fans as established artists since not as many people know you yet.

2) How do you feel when you present your music to the world?

That is where I get most of my enjoyment because you can on people's faces that they are having a good time or being moved by what I am singing and playing!

3) What techniques do you use to sing with control?

I think it is all about practice and building those muscles up. Your voice is shaky when you move outside of your comfort zone, just as your arms are shaky when you carry something too heavy. For me, I do warm ups and that is mainly so I don't lose my voice.

4) How long did it take for you to learn the guitar?

I taught myself and by about three months of practicing every day I never lost the ability.

5) Do you still have barriers when playing the guitar?

I wish I could play lead guitar faster. I practice a little but I spend most of my time writing songs.

6) Have you ever done a duet? if yes, who?

Only in a live concert with Imogen Heap

7) How long have you been into music?

Since I was maybe 9 or 10. I used to sit by the radio and listen to the charts every week!

8) Which song of yours is your favourite?

Not sure, right now I like ''I Figured the World Out'' and there are new songs that I am writing that I like a lot such as; ''Long Distance Runner''.

9) Which celebrity inspires you the most?

Well anyone can be a celebrity but it takes more to be an artist. As artists go, I am inspired by people who keep making relevant music like David Bowie or Paul Weller. I do also like Jennifer Lawrence as a celebrity though...

A big thanks to Josh for allowing us to upload this interview and please remember that this interview is old and some answers may longer apply.
