Detroit native R&B singer Kem performed back-to-back shows at Chene Park on June 24-25.
In his continued support for the city of Flint Mi Kem donated 40,000 of his proceeds from his Performance after Fridays show. In conjunction with his concert, he launched fundraising and water collection efforts for Flint.
The double performance encouraged concert goers to bring bottled water to the entrance of the venue and the monetary efforts were used to assist with The Salvation Army of Genesee County Emergency Assistance Fund.

Kem know what it feels like to live on the other side of fame and fortune.
He did not overcome these issues until he turned to spirituality and music, as he has said, "My career didn't take off until I connected with my spirituality. That's why I take time on stage and on the album to administer spirituality to people. That's one of the things that I am most proud of."
Kem truly represent a man with a self determining spirit who was able to turn tragedy into triumph.
There is something special about a man who was down only to fight his way back-up through God's grace and spiritual guidance.Turning failure into success is what Kem is about.
I first saw Kem perform at a venue in Cleveland, Ohio back in 2003. Since that day I have been a huge fan of Kem. I fail in love with Kem Smooth Voice from the first time I herd him perform. He effortlessly blends Soul and Jazz, Gospel and a little bit of marijuana Blues, all with that tinge of Old School Motown flavor that make his music so delectably contagious.

I even had a chance to interview him after his performance and the crazy part about that unforgettable evening, I was the only press to show up. We kicked it back stage for about 45 minutes just chopping it up about his music, his life, his rebirth. Still to this day Kem remains humble giving back to his community.
Kem jazzy sound is truly for grown folks. Kem is almost a dead ringer for Jazz vocalist Al Jarreau in his song stylings and vocal pitch.
From his first to his last love call Kem live performance keep you on the edge of your seat with his sexy bedroom ballads that entice you to be a born again romantic.
