BWB:10 years after the highly successful release of Groovin' and tour, the men of BWB reunited with a new album and tour this summer. Comprised of Rick Braun, Kirk Whalum and Norman Brown, their musical passion and groove intensity defines the truest heart and soul of today's contemporary jazz.
BWB have produced a really fine Smooth Jazz offering that fans of the genre will appreciate.
It's a spectacular reunion of three of the best of the best in contemporary jazz! Rick Braun, Kirk Whalum, and Norman Brown... collaborating again after 11 years as the super-group BWB.
The Braun-Whalum-Brown group BWB was conceived as an updated twist on a spirited ensemble vibe, with the trio of instrumental superstars showing up to the party and jamming live in the studio. According to Pierson, “As a guitarist, Norman is the George Benson and Wes Montgomery of his generation, Kirk is the most influential saxman of his generation and Rick, with his background in straight ahead jazz, brings an authentic, classic jazz trumpet vibe to the smooth jazz world.

Rick Braun demonstrated his mastery of old school funk and with the help of Kirk Whalum and Norman Brown added a jazzy favor to some musical classics. Standing alone in their own creative space these three men are truly great solo musicians. In spite of their unique style, they compliment one another very well.
You have to appreciate great musicianship wherever it is found. BWB have produced a really fine Smooth Jazz offering that fans of the genre will appreciate.
I think what enjoyed most about the performance no one tried to overshadow the other, each musician had his moment in the spotlight, without a doubt I was mesmerize and found myself dropping my camera several times to radiate their hypnotic sound.
BWB, spotlights three of the most distinct stylists in contemporary jazz today: trumpeter Rick Braun, saxophonist Kirk Whalum and guitarist Norman Brown.
